| Narragansett Bay is home to the sailing and yachting Mecca of Newport, RI. We were headed for the island just across the bay from Newport, Conanicut Island, to a small town, Jamestown. Here we were to be hosted at the Conanicut YC, by Roger and Chris Jones, friends of my sister Mary Agnes and her husband Jay Wisentaner,. They were to be out for the weekend sailing so we picked up their mooring at the yacht club. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| Jamestown is the ideal spot to watch the “parade” offered by Newport on a beautiful summer weekend, and not have to endure the crowds and commotion. It is a small and attractive resort village with lots of shops and markets. We enjoyed great summer weather, warm and breezy, while we were there and did nothing but relax the entire weekend. |
